AP Japanese preparation???

The ONLY book I could find was "Strive for a five: AP japanese sample tests"
How should I prepare for this test??? What vocab, etc. should I study? Thanks.

Best ways to learn japanese

I'm interested in learning japanese, but where I live, there arent any good japanese classes or teachers. How acceptable do you think it would be for me to learn from a system like Rosetta Stone? I've heard great things about the program, some people even going so far as to say it's BETTER than the traditional class environment for learning the language. The fact stands that if i really want to learn this is one of my only options. Do you guys think learning from a program like that would give good results, or should I just keep trying to find a class/teacher?

I'm a first year in Japanese, in こうこう　and I know a couple of simple sentences in japanese, but I'm writing a paper in english and japanese, and it's becoming increasingly difficult to transliterate between the two languages. So I was wondering how I would say: " For some reason, it was the art that I couldn’t get enough of, and whenever I saw it, I would instantly become interested in what I was seeing"

Hello! Hopefully this is ok to ask in this forum. Please let me know if not. I need some help translating some characters that appear on several lego minifigures from the Ninjago theme (I blog about minifigures lol). I think they are Japanese characters but I can't be sure so please don't take offence if these are not Japanese! I have uploaded pictures of the symbols here:

I tried to translate "Gintama" episode title online from kanji to romaji "悪ガキどもの祭典" and I've got - "aku gaki domo no saiten". Could anyone tell me whether this is correct. Thanks.

Hell, Im new to the forum but I've been using Jisho for years. I think we need a bug fixes forum in order to discuss problems that we are having with jisho.org. Or at least a how to use page. Maybe theres some trick to it that I haven't figured out yet but everytime I try to type in shya it comes out sHIya. Its kind of annoying, especially for very long words where it doesn't even look up the word and just cuts it off entirely, so I cant even copy paste a small ya into the word I was looking for. Maybe Im the only one having this problem... Anyone else think we need a bug fixes forum?

I'm an English teacher in the US. One of my students, who knows I studied Japanese in high school, asked me to translate the following. However, my Japanese is incredibly rusty (it's been nearly a decade of not using it). I've got some of the words, but the flow of the actual meaning is eluding me. 　I'm not sure if that's because I'm not only rusty, but completely inept, or if it's because it's written by a high school student who isn't fluent. Some of the handwriting was so bad it took me awhile to even recognize the kanji.

Was reading some of the 風の谷のナウシカ manga, and came across this word: コロサレタ. I have no idea what it means, and it doesn't pull up anything in my dictionaries. Anyone want to take a stab at it? (My Japanese isn't that great, so I probably haven't understood it's context. Don't have a camera or I'd take a picture...)

Also, I frequently see "ヴ," how exactly do you pronounce it? I read it was suppose to sound like a "v," but is it simply "う," masquerading as a 'v'? For example, the film サマーウォーズ (Summer Wars), it's not exactly "war," just can sound like a "w." Hopefully this makes sense. :]

Hi. I have been trying to translate a tracklist for a soundtrack album for the past couple of days, but there are some really confusing titles; some even have onomatopoeia words. I've asked on a couple of forums already, but unfortunately I haven't been able to get much help. So I registered here in hope of better help.

Read the post on Japan Forum for my theory. But what I wrote in that post may very well be incorrect.

私、リゾートしてます
Can this really mean "I'm going to a resort" (as previously translated by someone)? The "going to a" part confuses me. I've read up on the "shitemasu" part, and as far as I can tell it's only a confirmation of... doing something, so it may be as easy as "I Will Resort".

I can provide SAMPLES of the mentioned tracks if you need to get a sense of what the titles relates to (or whatever). So please don't hesitate to send me a PM if you think it may help.

Uncommon verb endings?

I have been selfteaching myself Japanese for a while, and I can read most things fairly well.
However, I've sometimes come across a verb ending with 'らず. For example, the sentence was 'お気にさらず'
I think the sentence itself would mean something along the lines of 'Don't mind it', but I'm uncertain what that ending means. I hope you can help me out here.
