Why is "ティ" romanized as "tei"?

    Why is "ティ" romanized as "tei" on Denshi Jisho? Wouldn't the proper romanization be "ti" seeing as how "ティ" and "テイ" would be the same thing?

    I looked it up on other sites and they romanize "ティ" to "ti" or "thi". Am I missing something here?

    That's indeed incorrect, it should be romanized as "ti" ideally. I'll put it on the bug list.

    Well, ti = ち so it's not that simple. The definite romanization of ティ would be texi.

    However yes, if you use the kana as romaji checkbox (which I really don't think anyone should use, kana > romaji) it would probably look best to have it as ti.

    I'm not talking about typing something out on the keyboard, I'm talking about romanizing Japanese to English.
