I think you might mean 違和感.

It means 'a sense of incongruity', or maybe things not being harmonious, 和 meaning harmony here.
If it's in an unreliable source like a blog, I'd say it's a mistake, but if it's in a reliable source like a book, I'd say it's artistic licence!
But seriously, it seems unorthodox kanji use is something you have to get used to with reading Japanese. Cases like the one above where the kanji have the same pronunciation and pretty much the same meaning seem to be interchangeable.

I asked my teacher and she siad the two kanji are different. But she siad it ment "something doesn't feel right". Which is pretty much the same as 違和感.
But I think your right, I am going to have to get used to those "artistic licence" kanji. Its just hard to get a good picture in your head when your not exactly sure about the meaning.
