Spelling error in definition for 暈繝 ugen
  • chevengachevenga November 2009

    Hi, all.

I was looking up "dying" today, and these two words came up in the search results:

    暈繝 ugen
    繧繝 ugen

    The definition says this:

"method of dying in which a color repeatedly goes from dense to diffuse, diffuse to dense - imported from western China and used in Buddhist pictures, temple ornaments, etc., during the Nara and Heian periods"

The word "dying" should be "dyeing", since it refers to dyes, not to death. These two definitions should be updated with the correct spelling.

See http://conjugator.reverso.net/conjugation-english-verb-dye.html for more information about "dye" conjugations.

Not sure who to report this to, so I started here.

Please let me know if you need more information.

    Thanks!

    Chevenga

This is an error in EDICT. You should probably contact Jim Breen about it at http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/cgi-bin/wwwjdic.cgi?1C
