    職買室?
    I saw this on a sign at a school but I'm not quite sure what it means.
    I think (stress "think") it's a room where confiscated items (those students may not bring to school) are stored...
    Or maybe not. I'm confused because I can't seem to find a translation anywhere, even when I leave 室 aside I can't seem to find any explanation.

    I'm sorry, this is probably a very stupid question. T_T

    Sure it's not: 職員室 (しょくいんしつ) Staff Room?

    It's read as 'shoku bai shitsu' apparently.
    'Shoku' means employment, 'bai' means 'buy' or 'purchase' and 'shitsu' means room. I'm not exactly sure what it would mean put together. You should probably ask a native Japanese person.

    It's definitely 職員室. There's no such thing as a 職買室.

    I asked a few of my Japanese friends and they've never heard of 職買室.
    They all say it's 職員室。

    Makes perfect sense to me. It's a room where you sell employment haha ;^)
