おとめ or しょうじょ? When to use which? Can someone please clarify? Thanks in advance.

Reading: しょうじょ - I wouldn't read it as おとめ unless there were furigana telling me to read it that way
Writing: Use 少女 for しょうじょ and 乙女 for おとめ to avoid ambiguity
Listening: The same definitions on DenshiJisho but Yahoo gives 'girl' for しょうじょ, and 'maiden' or 'virgin' for 'おとめ' which matches about how often I think they're used in modern Japanese.
Speaking: If you want to say girl, say しょうじょ (or onna no ko). おとめ as maiden/virgin is a bit old-fashioned (as far as I know) and would probably only appear, if at all, in compounds.
