引き what the hell does it mean???
  • I see quite often 引き before a verb , such as 引き戻す, 引き倒す etc.. I noticed that the meaning substantially don't change so.. Someone could tell me what is it used for?
  • These are compound verbs.

    引き戻す = 引く + 戻す
    引き倒す = 引く + 倒す

    The notion of both verbs blend into one. "to pull" and "to put back" give you "to pull back".

    "to pull" and "to throw down, to bring down" give you "to pull down"
  • thanks very much, now it's clear
