大先生状態?
  • Trying to translate a voice bubble out of a manga. The voice bubble reads:
    なんだ、あの。。。
    大先生状態の
    着ぐるみは?
Great Teacher State's character costume doesn't seem right. There was a dot beside each kanji where furigana would normally be if that means anything.
  • Those dots do not mean anything in particular, but they are used to indicate emphasis in Japanese.

As for the word itself, it is a word made up by the author on the fly (remember, that is a feature of languages, using languages creatively), and you what it literally translates to it basically what it means - "Big (Teacher State/Condition)". Interpreting, it means that all features characteristic for a teacher are present to a large extent. Being accompanied by "なんだ、あの…" ("What the... this thing"), the speaker exaggerates to convey just how strange/weird/... he thinks it is.

Howdy, Stranger!
